作为二十世纪最重要哲学家之一，维特根斯坦对当代哲学发展产生了深远影响，他对哲学的未来发展也有着诸多思考，涉及到元哲学、哲学与科学的关系、人工智能哲学、数学哲学、心理学哲学等诸多领域。为了探索维特根斯坦与哲学未来的关系，由中国现代外国哲学学会维特根斯坦哲学专业委员会、《科学技术哲学研究》编辑部联合举办，新黄金城667733承办，《中国分析哲学》集刊编辑部协办，第六届国际维特根斯坦学术研讨会将于2023年11月11-12日举行。现将会议事宜通知如下：

Sixth International Wittgenstein Conference

Taiyuan, November 11-12, 2023

CALL FOR PAPERS

Ludwig Wittgenstein, one of the twentieth century’s most important philosophers, has profoundly influenced undisputedly contemporary philosophy in the world. Wittgenstein also thought much about wider themes such as philosophy’s future, meta-philosophy, the relationship between science and philosophy, the philosophy of mathematics, the philosophy of psychology, and even the philosophy of artificial intelligence as well. In order to better explore the connection between Wittgenstein and the future of philosophy, the Sixth International Wittgenstein Conference, jointly organized by the Chinese Wittgenstein Society, the editorial board of Studies in Philosophy of Science and Technology , hosted by the School of Philosophy of Shanxi University, and co-organized by the editorial board of Analytic Philosophy in China , will be held in the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi, China in November 2023.    

I. Theme: Wittgenstein and the Future of Philosophy

III.Venue: Conference Center at the campus of Shanxi University, Taiyuan      

IV. Topics:      

1. Wittgenstein and the Future Development of Philosophy      

2. Wittgenstein and Meta-philosophy      

3. Wittgenstein and the Philosophy of Science, the Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence, the Philosophy of Mathematics, and the Philosophy of Psychology      

4. Other philosophical questions related to Wittgenstein      

There will be a special panel on the centenary of the publication of Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus with Michael Beaney’s new translation, and the celebration of the publication of the Chinese translation of the Oxford Handbook of the History of Analytic Philosophy . Professor Michael Beaney, the editor, and Professor Jiang Yi, the translator-in-chief, will present at the panel. And some of the world-known Wittgenstein scholars such as Professors Mauro Engelmann, Stefan Majetschak, Martin Stokhof, and Hans Sluga, will participate in the conference.

VII. Requirements for papers:        

1. Papers must be original and unpublished. The official languages of the conference are Chinese and English.        

2. The conference organization committee will send out the formal invitation letters after October 10 if the submitted paper is accepted.        

3. There will be student sessions if student papers are accepted by the committee.        

4. The deadline for long abstract submission (at least 1500 words) is October 1, 2023, and the deadline for the full paper submission is October 31, 2023. Send your abstract to the following email address:

5. Excellent papers will be recommended to the Analytic Philosophy in China for publication.
